Burnt ToaSt

A short romance VN about Christmas preparations.

ACM Studio Snowjam 2021 Submission! Theme = Toasty. Made in 48 hours (with an additional 48 hours of bugfixes post-jam). The project was designed from scratch in Unity 2021.3.24f1.

The minigame can be quite unintuitive; if you ever get stuck, feel free to turn on "Enable Dev Scene Skip" in the options menu and press 'q' to skip the scene. If the cooking minigame softlocks, press the 'Restart Scene' button in the options menu to try the cooking segment again.

Known Bugs:

- Some dialogue is cut off due to the text box size. Clicking a lot during dialogue scenes may crash the game. A handful of grammar/spelling  mistakes.

- The cooking minigame can end early if multiple items are stacked and combined at once.

Version History:

v1.0 (2021-12-17) - Released broken version for jam. Completely broken.

v1.1 (2021-12-17) - Added scenes 2-5. Added Instant-text toggle button. Fixed minigame. Fixed settings button advancing dialogue. Music fixed. Cooking minigame greatly improved. Toggleable scene skip (hidden hotkey).

v 1.2 (2021-12-18) - Enabled clicking to skip dialogue text rendering. Fixed crash when rapid-clicking Play button. Text speed slider. Major dialogue fixes. Minigame fix.

v 1.3 (2021-12-19) - Code cleanup. Minigames 3-4 complete. Dialogue temporarily fixed. Playable on the web.

v 1.4 (2021-12-19) - Character Expressions added. Some typos fixed. SFX added.
